Bombyx mori - Orgosolo strain

Antonella Muscau is a guardian breeder committed to the protection of two very particular animal resources: the Sardo-Bruna cow and the silkworm (Bombyx mori) Orgosolo breed. Her activity combines pastoral tradition with an almost disappeared practice such as sericulture, recovering ancient knowledge and contributing to the conservation of unique genetic and cultural heritages. Her work demonstrates how biodiversity can be guarded even through less conventional forms of breeding but deeply rooted in local history.
