Fico Murra

The Murra fig is a traditional variety that is part of the long history of fig cultivation in Sardinia, dating back to the Copper Age. Widespread in the countryside and vineyards, it is one of the many varieties selected over time to adapt to the different environments of the island. Already at the beginning of the nineteenth century, Sardinian figs were appreciated for their abundance,quality and the long ripening season, from July to October, and were consumed fresh or dried, constituting an important food resource for rural communities.
