Black Calasetta lentil

Carlo Pitzalis and Agnese Martis, guardian farmers from Sant’Antioco, represent a virtuous example of passion and care for traditional plant varieties. In their work, they value ancient legumes and vegetables such as the Black Lentil of Calasetta, the White-flowered and Purple-flowered Chickpea of Musei, as well as the Facussa (a variety of melon) and the Gavoi Potato. Their activity is a bridge between the food heritage of Sardinia and traditional cultivation techniques, keeping alive plant species that would otherwise risk disappearing.
